i’ve been thinking a lot about the importance of ritual lately. rituals ground us, center us, + anchor us - try practicing one this weekend and see how it feels. bonus points if you share your ritual with others and join in community.
✨
lighting candles at the end of every week has become a ritual i (try to) practice, and i’ve found that it helps me not only press pause and reflect on the week, highs and lows, but also acknowledge that time has passed and that things are always moving forward.
✨
it also takes me back to my childhood days of lighting shabbat candles in elementary school and preparing for a day of rest. the way we close out our week and head into the weekend makes a world of a difference 💫 happy friday, friends.
my heart is so happy to share that i’ll be teaming up with Lena Franklin @mindful_healer and Darrah Brustein @darrahb for an exclusive event on feb. 27th, ‘The Mindful Entrepreneur’ - an intimate evening of conversations and practices to help you consciously and mindfully create a life and career you love.
✨
throughout the evening, you’ll learn how to manifest a purposeful life fueled by passionate work and authentic presence. teaser: these tools exist within. all you have to do is take the space and give yourself permission to dig, dream, and do the damn thing.
✨
spots are limited, so tap the link in bio to get your seat for $125 - because you’re worth it.
m i n d f u l n e s s 💫 one of the topics you wanted to hear most about! as i head into my second training on mindfulness-based stress reduction + meditation today, my biggest takeaway thus far has been understanding what mindfulness actually is 💁🏻‍♀️. at its most basic level, mindfulness is the practice of paying attention on purpose without judgement. paying attention to anything - from the sound of your car blinker to the space a certain emotion holds in your physical body 🧘🏻‍♀️. the hardest part for me has been focusing my attention on JUST one thing, particularly without attaching thought or judgement to it - but hey, that’s why it’s called a practice right? quick tip: easiest thing for me to practice with has been a candle - focusing on the way the flame moves with the air. give it a try and see where your mind goes ✨🕯✨ would love to know what questions you have about mindfulness that i can answer as i continue to learn ♥️

r e l a t i o n s h i p s 💫 positive psychology research identifies relationships as a main contributor to our personal fulfillment and quality of life.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
after all, we are social animals - we thrive on authentic connection. here are 3 ways to create what we call “high quality connections:”⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1. perspective-taking: once a day, try putting yourself in someone else’s shoes - this will help deepen your practice of empathy and emotion regulation as you demonstrate care and concern for others.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
2. expressions of gratitude: this allows you to focus your attention on someone’s positive attributes, which helps the recipient feel known, loved and respected. whether it’s verbally expressed in real time, or written down in a note of appreciation, a genuine and sincere ’thank you’ can go a long way.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
3. offering support: whether through providing information, emotional support, or other helpful resources, you can strengthen the quality of your connection with someone by identifying their needs and offering something of value.⁣⁣

m a n i f e s t i n g 💫 when i shared my vision board on my IG story, lots of you asked about how to make one/how it works. one of the most important things to consider when making a vision board is to get as specific as you can with what you want to attract. for example, an intention of mine this year is to speak more in front of groups of people. when i tune into the energy of how that feels and what that looks like, i picture what i’m wearing, what expertise i’m sharing, how much i get paid, who’s in the room, and so on. so on my vision board you’ll see a picture of the exact red dress i wear, the exact dollar amount i get paid, the specific theory i talk about, and the mic i hold. notice that even now i talk about it in the present tense as if it’s already happening. the more specific you can get, the more you’ll be able to feel it as real in your mind and body. when you align yourself with that energy, the universe knows exactly what to bring your way. have any of you tried making a vision board? i’d love to know what you want to attract this year and support you in bringing it to life ✨ pc @libmalcolm
